Chemical Dominoes
Project Description: We took a chemistry kit to the next level by building a board game full of chemical reactions. These reactions must include a single reaction, double reaction, production of gas, lighting an LED, and chemical and physical changes of energy. We also added in a combustion reaction just for fun. We modeled our game after the popular book series The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
How it works: The goal is to be the last player left in the game. To start, each player picks a game piece and places it on one of the neutral white spaces (see right). The first player roles the die and moves that many spaces clockwise. If they land on a blue space, they must pick a blue reaction card. These have high risk and high reward; they could either boot them out of the game or give them a chance to kick someone else out. If they land on a red space, they pick a cornucopia card, which can be played to counteract certain reaction cards.
Intended for 6-8 players ages 10+
See instruction document below for more details.
